- He has been awarded by the Rockland County Legislature and received the NAACP "Lifetime Achievement Award" for his community service.
- He is active in the local Chamber of Commerce and serves as a Fire Chaplain in the Village of Haverstraw.
- He is a Board Member with the Village Dept. of Family and Youth Services
- He and Pauline, married twenty five years, have three children: Ben 23, Nicole 21, and Joelle 10.
